Our Mission:

To promote the empowerment of and equality for Ohio’s diverse Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing communities by offering culturally affirmative advocacy and education, while inspiring community accountability, in response to oppression and relationship and sexual violence.

Our Vision:

To address domestic violence and sexual assault in the Deaf community.

DWAVE provides:

culturally affirmative advocacy and support to survivors of relationship or sexual violence within Ohio's Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.  We are a Deaf-run agency offering services to individuals, education to agencies, and advocacy to systems from a Deaf perspective.  Our services serve as a model for the State of Ohio.  And we are available for consultation/workshops. If you have a question about serving Deaf survivors, don't hesitate to email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. DWAVE Services:

-  Community, legal, and social service advocacy for survivors of crime and trauma

-  Mental Health Counseling: Trauma Sensitive/Trauma Informed Counseling for survivors of crime and trauma

-  24-hour advocacy for survivors of sexual assault at local hospital emergency rooms in partnership with SARNCO

-  Education and Outreach with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Hearing communities

-  Volunteer training
